JOB DESCRIPTION OR DUTIES:
Under the general supervision of the Chief of Multimedia and the immediate supervision of the Video Producer, the incumbent will be responsible for the production of video products including public service announcements, features and stories for the television programme, ‘Ba Pas’, as well as to provide support for production of documentaries for local use;
Research, write, produce and broadcast television feature/documentary programs in Tetun on the activities of the United Nations and development partners. He/She will initiate contact and liaise with substantive departments of the United Nations System and other relevant sources on topical issues for television programming; Conduct interviews, gather materials; Undertake relevant research within and outside the UN, and field assignments to generate original materials and other actuality for programming; Contribute ideas to program planning and promotional efforts; Undertake travel assignments as and when required.

Planning and organizing - Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and sometimes work under pressure. Technological awareness – Knowledge of and experience in video production equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Completion of secondary education; supplemental training and certifications in video/ television production, journalism, communications, public information, or a particular communications medium is an asset.
Experience: A minimum of Six (6) years of experience in television/ video production as a news writer/producer, camera operator, production assistant, or in communications or public relations. Hands-on practical experience in producing for television is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English and Tetum is required, Portuguese and Bahasa Indonesia is desirable.
