PROGRAM OFFICER – ADMINISTRATION/FINANCE
SEARCH FOR COMMON GROUND TIMOR-LESTE

Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Timor-Leste, a non-profit, independent, secular, non-government organisation dedicated to conflict transformation, is seeking a Program Officer to assist with Administration and Finance functions.

Search for Common Ground Timor-Leste is a representative office of SFCG, whose mission is to transform how individuals, organizations and governments deal with conflict - away from adversarial approaches, toward cooperative solutions. SFCG’s headquarters are in Washington, DC USA and Brussels, Belgium.

POSITION: ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE OFFICER
LOCATION: DILI
CONTRACT PERIOD: 12 MONTHS (with possibility of extension)
START DATE: APRIL 2010
STATUS: FULL TIME

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist management with a broad array of Admin & Finance functions, including: human resources (HR), phones/reception, filing, correspondence, asset tracking and management, contracts and procurement, petty cash, bank transactions, and expense reports
  • Supervise office assistants and drivers, and assist with other human resources issues
  • Facilitate government and donor relations, meetings/appointments, etc.
  • Manage internal office matters
  • Demonstrate leadership, energy and enthusiasm as a member of a dynamic team that will require such qualities to succeed

Qualifications:
  • Experience in administration and finance, preferably with an NGO/INGO or aid agency
  • Bachelor’s degree, or other relevant qualifications or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with government structures and procedures
·         Fluent written and spoken English and Tetum (Portuguese and Indonesian helpful, but not required)
  • Basic accounting skills, especially familiarity with Excel
  • Computer skills including Word, Internet and email
  • Excellent cross-cultural communication and working skills, enjoys a multicultural work environment

TEAM LEADERS – MEDIA & YOUTH
SEARCH FOR COMMON GROUND TIMOR-LESTE

Search for Common Ground (SFCG) Timor-Leste, a non-profit, independent, secular, non-government organisation dedicated to conflict transformation, is seeking three media and community development professionals to work as Team Leaders on our youth and media programs. Search for Common Ground Timor-Leste is a representative office of SFCG, whose mission is to transform how individuals, organisations and governments deal with conflict - away from adversarial approaches and toward cooperative solutions. SFCG’s headquarters are in Washington, DC USA and Brussels, Belgium.

POSITION: TEAM LEADER, Media & Youth
LOCATION: DILI (with extensive travel throughout Timor-Leste)
CONTRACT PERIOD: 12 MONTHS (with possibility of extension)
START DATE: APRIL 2010
STATUS: FULL TIME

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and partnership
  • Support development of peace-building radio content, production, and distribution, training materials and partnerships related to the media and youth programs
  • Maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders (partners, NGOs, media placement agencies, donors, etc.)
  • Participate in new program development and fundraising, and help with coordination of program meetings, program planning, development of human resources, and budget review and analysis

Qualifications:
·         2-4 years experience in implementing youth or media programs, particularly radio
·         Experience in developing curriculum and content for formal/informal educational purposes
·         Experience in production of public media (radio, print, etc)
·         Excellent multi-cultural communication skills; substantial NGO/INGO experience a plus
·         Possesses strong initiative; able to work independently and as member of a team
·         Excellent gender awareness and analysis
·         Computer skills including Word, Excel, Internet and email
·         Fluent in Tetum. English, Portuguese and/or Indonesian an asset. Willingness to travel.
