CCF Finance Assistant Deadline 2 October 2008

The Christian Children’s Fund, non-governmental organization, is seeking for a dynamic, self motivated and resourceful person to fill a Finance Assistant position based in Dili Office. The Finance Assistant (for Country Office) assists the Finance Manager in the day to day financial management of the Timor Leste Country office. The main responsibilities include budget management, working fund accounts management, donor reporting, fund disbursements, CCF adherence to statutory requirements, and payroll preparation.

Skills and Experience: The successful candidate must possess a University degree or other Tertiary Education in Accounting/Finance and with at least two year accounting experience, preferably with NGO background. Ability to work independently and in a team. High level communication skills, both oral and written in English and Tetum (fluency in other languages used in Timor Leste such as Portuguese or Bahasa Indonesian, would be desirable). Highly motivated, with excellent organizational, planning and prioritizing skills. High degree of computer literacy including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and knowledge of accounting software. Ability/willingness to be flexible, forward looking and supportive in a challenging work environment.

Project Officer with special responsibility for Gender involvements
Irish Aid/Timor-Leste Office


The Irish Aid Representative Office in Timor-Leste is seeking to recruit a full time Project Officer with special responsibility for Gender. The position is fulltime and open to Timorese Nationals.

General Information: the Gender Projects Officer would be responsible for ensuring effective gender mainstreaming is being adopted throughout the entire Irish Aid programme in Timor-Leste. Other duties include liaising with other key Government agencies, donor organisations and Civil Society Organisations including NGO’s that are active in the respective area of Gender issues. The Gender Projects Officer will also ensure that Gender is prioritised in current and future Country Strategy Papers for Irish Aid in Timor-Leste.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an experience of working with Civil Societies and local NGO’s in Timor-Leste on issues related to Gender. The applicant will have fluency in Tetun and English and have the ability to coordinate information and to work cooperatively and supportively in a team environment.
