EDC, District Coordinators for Aileu, Manatuto, Manufahi and Driver, Deadline
Education Development Center Inc. (EDC), a US-based, non-profit education research and development organization, is implementing the USAID Prepara Ami ba Servisu (PAS) program in Timor Leste. This program provides young, minimally-educated rural men and women with a workforce preparation program that combines off-the-job instruction with on-the-job training.
We are currently seeking a qualified person for the following positions:
1. District Coordinators for Aileu, Manatuto and Manufahi
The District Coordinator (DC) is responsible for project implementation in multiple sites in selected districts. The ideal candidate will already be living in the Districts; will have a demonstrated capacity to manage projects; will be able to identify work opportunities and network with appropriate Government, NGO, and private sector officials and will have some training experience. Frequent travel within and between Districts is required and this position is based in the Districts.
Successful DC for Aileu will cover Maubisse area.
Successful DC for Manatuto is preferably someone who can live and stay in Natarbora.
Successful DC for Manufahi is preferably someone from Same.
For these positions, candidates must be Timorese citizens, must have at least a secondary school diploma, university degree preferred, and previous work experience in related area. Candidates must have a working knowledge of English (reading, writing and speaking) and must speak Tetun and/or Bahasa Indonesian.
2. Driver
The incumbent is responsible for the safe transport of EDC staff, consultants and visitors inside and outside Dili on regular basis. The responsibility includes but is not limited to the day-to-day maintenance of the vehicles, ensures the vehicle is in good condition, clean and well-maintained at all times.
The ideal candidate should be Timorese citizen, flexible, matured in judgment, has good knowledge of local conditions and administrative regions of Timor Leste and have at least 2 years professional driving experience preferably obtained from reputable organizations. He is expected to be available on regular trips to districts which may or may not require overnight stay. This position reports to the Finance and Administration Manager.
