World Vision Timor Leste, a non-profit Christian Humanitarian Organization, committed to working with the poor and vulnerable, is seeking qualified national staff to fill the following vacant position in Dili:

Purpose of the Position

To develop and integrate initiatives that nurture the spiritual formation of World Vision Timor-Leste (WVTL), the development of partnerships with churches and the faithful expression of holistic Christian witness which contributes to the flourishing of children, their families and communities so that they are equipped for sustained transformational development.

 

Major Responsibilities

1.      Management & Leadership:
·         Develop and implement the Christian Commitment (CC) strategy that aligns to the national strategy and Partnership policies.
·         Prepare and monitor the implementation of plan and budget.

2.  Enable WVTL staff to grow spiritually:
·         Support devotional guidance to WVTL staff.
·         Facilitate/coordinate regular devotions, chapel, and open forum on Christian issues.       
·         Invite Pastors or other leaders to share in Devotion, chapel and open forums.
·         Organize Christmas, Day of Prayer, and Easter Day celebrations.
·         Conduct annual retreats to strengthen staff unity and commitment to ministry of the organization.
·         Set up and strengthen the library in all Base/Operations offices.  Equip the library with appropriate and relevant Christian materials.

3.  Enhance Holistic Christian Witness with WVTL stakeholders:
·         Develop and improve materials on minimum requirement of WVTL in term of Christian Witness for WVTL new staff orientation.
·         Provide orientation on WVTL minimum requirement in term of Christian Witness to new WVTL staff.
·         Develop training materials and provide training. 
·         Support field-based staff to conduct events to show Christian witness for the community.
·         Conduct home visits in the community.

4. Strengthen the unity and capacity of church partners to do witness in the community:
·         Build unity between churches/denominations in all WVTL Program areas.
·         Develop and implement a strategy to influence and equip churches to serve vulnerable groups in their areas.
·         Support Church partners to attend training on child protection, gender diversity, poverty and development.
·         Cooperate with church partners to share information on child abuse, child protection, gender to the targeted children, teenagers, and women group.
·         Join Church Partners to pray, praise and glorify Almighty Lord.
·         Organize activities that help Church and WVTL staff to understand each other’s identity, vision, and strategies, as well as to advocate for greater involvement from Church partners in all Area Programs activities.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Education
Diploma or University degree in relevant field
Required
Knowledge
Good interpersonal and communication skills
Required 

Computer literate in Word programs (IT knowledge)
Required

Ability to communicate in English (writing and speaking)
Preferred
Experience
Minimum 2 years of work experience in related field
Required

Sound experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and report writing
Preferred

Working Environment
Be willing to work in a team environment and travel (about 20%) and stay overnight at the field.
