Purpose:
Under close supervision of the Chief WASH, L4, the incumbent contributes to planning, administration, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities including data collection and analysis and progress reporting. The incumbent will assist to manage the Project budget of about USD 300,000 per annum.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
·         Assists in planning and implementation of project activities. Collect and analyze data with regard to project particularly safe environment activities. Ensure that safe environment awareness education materials are developed and distributed to the targeted people.
·         Undertakes ongoing field visits to children’s Environment project sites for the participation in, or observation of project activities and local conditions. Prepares routine reports on results of visits and project progress particularly the Child Injury and Improved Cooking Stove activities.
·         Draft children’s environment project activities budgets in ProMs ensuring accuracy and appropriateness of coding.  Regularly follows up and review the fund utilization status. Drafts and issues updated status reports.
·         Monitors the flow of supply and non-supply assistance to implementing partners such as national and district Government counterparts, NGOs, etc.  Based on the AWP, draft supply plan and prepare supply request.  Collects and record information on supply/non-supply inventory, distribution and utilization.  Facilitate end-user-monitoring as required.
·         Investigates queries regarding authorization, delivery or payments and follow up with Finance, Administrative, Supply and Programme staff on processing of payments, advances to governments and liquidation of accounts.  Ensures that activities are in accordance with plans of action.
·         Communicates with national and district government counterpart on project details such as plan and progress, utilizations of funds, progress reporting, etc. Recommends courses of action to the supervisor (WES Chief) accordingly.
·         Undertakes arrangements for visits to project sites for government, donors, UNICEF visitors and other partners, which include providing information and briefing on project activities and status.  Assists to prepare project briefs.
·         Drafts children’s environment project related sections of donor, annual and other reports as required by HQ. Assists to prepare donor report and donor/government briefing papers.

Requirements:
·          Education: University degree in Civil/Public Health Engineering or related technical field or Person with relevant and considerable work experience in Water Supply and Sanitation Project Management.
·          Experience: Minimum of two years professional work experience in project administration including data collection and analysis.
·          Computer: Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications.
·          Language(s): Fluency in English and another UN language required. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
