Job Opportunity for Timor-Leste Nationals


The International Republican Institute (IRI), an international NGO working to promote better governance and civic engagement in Timor-Leste, seeks qualified candidates for the position of ASSISTANT PROGRAM OFFICER based in Dili.


Responsibilities include planning and implementing workshops, coordinating with partner organizations and program participants, and contributing creative ideas to the development of future activities. Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines is important.


Familiarity with local and national government structures required. Experience working on programs for good governance, women's leadership, youth development, civic education, electoral activities, better journalism, or responsible political parties is preferred. Skills as a trainer are highly desirable.


Good spoken and written English are required, including the ability to write concise activity reports and to translate short documents between English and Tetum.


The Assistant Program Officer must be willing to occasionally travel around Timor-Leste, be familiar with computers in an office environment, and have a demonstrated ability to be financially responsible.
