Local Initiative for Food Security Transformation (LIFT) Project
Position Title: Nutrition and Health Facilitators – 1(Field Officer)
Place of Assignment: Bobonaro District, Timor-Leste
Duration: 12 months, with possibility for extension
Reports to: Project Officer and National Project Manager
PROJECT BACKGROUND
LIFT, an EuropeAid funded (EC) project, will be supporting 3,000 vulnerable households in Liquica and Bobonaro districts in Timor-Leste in order to address the underlying causes of food insecurity. The project aims to address food security in an integrated manner.
JOB SUMMARY:
- Promote community-based health and nutrition initiatives, personal hygiene and sanitation among women groups in the target villages
- Raise awareness and train communities, particularly women groups in proper feeding, nutrition and hygiene practices
- Promote linkages with local government health facilities and PSF (Promoter Saude Familia)
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Senior high school and technical school graduate in health or related subjects
- Experience in dealing with health, hygiene and nutrition issues in local communities and PSF (Promoter Saude Familia)
- Good training and facilitation skills
- Fluent in Tetum and knowledge of Kemak or Bunak
- Candidates (man or woman) from Bobonaro district are encouraged to apply
- A candidate (man or woman) with motorbike driving skills
