Outreach Coordinator

The “Ita Nia Rai” program to strengthen land and property rights in Timor-Leste is looking for a long-term national Outreach Coordinator, based in Dili with frequent travel to the districts (up to 60% of time).

The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for planning and implementing community outreach communications in support of land data collection activities in at least 7 districts. This will include:

- Liaise with community and stakeholders at National and Districts levels;
- Plan and organize community meetings in target districts;
- Conduct community meetings to socialize the project;
- Keep detailed monitoring and evaluation records of community meetings;

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

- Minimum 4 years of progressively responsible work experience in a relevant position;
- Secondary education;
- Previous experience in outreach communications, public speaking, and working with communities in the districts;
- Fluency in Tetum and Indonesian and excellent verbal communicator in both languages;
- Working knowledge of English;
- Computer literacy;
- Good communicator;
- Good listener;
- Good understanding of outreach processes, especially to a non-literate audience;
- Timely, professional and hard-working;
- Team player with excellent inter-personal skills;
- Previous experience with an international organization would be an asset.

To be considered, candidates must be Timor-Leste nationals with excellent verbal communication skills in Tetum and Indonesian, and be proficient in English. The position is potentially until September 30 2012, based upon satisfactory performance.
