GRIPS Japan Masters Program

Dear Mr. /Ms. ,

Thank you for your interest in the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS).
We offer three one-year Master's programs to applicants from Timor-Leste; Public Policy
Program, Public Finance Program and Transition Economy Program. For more information on
our programs, please see:

http://www.grips.ac.jp/pstudents/degree.html

Each program has a certain number of full scholarships that are provided by the Japanese
Government’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology and
international organizations such as the Asian Development Bank, the International
Monetary Fund, the World Bank and the World Customs Organization.

These scholarships cover application fees, admission fees, tuition fees, a round-trip ticket and
monthly stipends for the duration of study. For more information on scholarships, please see:

http://www.grips.ac.jp/pstudents/admissions/scholarships.html

The international programs are taught entirely in English, so Japanese language proficiency is
not required. Applicants must satisfy GRIPS' English language requirements (min. TOEFL 550
scores or IELTS 6.0; a test result certificate is required). Applicants who completed their
undergraduate/graduate education in English can provide evidence of English proficiency by
submitting an official document proving that the medium of instruction at the university was
English. In this case, a test result certificate is not required.

The details on eligibility terms, deadlines, age limitations, contact addresses and the time to start
accepting candidates vary by program. For more information on admission requirements, please
see:

For more information on how to apply, please see:
